Tools for the optimist-ish: May edition
May edition: A few things that made me happy this month
Hi friend,
If you’re anything like me, staying optimistic about life can be challenging. I don’t believe we should always be happy. In fact, I’m a big fan of ranting or crying whenever you need it. That being said, I’m trying to lessen my general anxiety by cultivating optimism.
Enter Tools for the Optimist, where I round up some of my favourite things from the past month. I hope some things in here bring you joy, too!
And, wherever you are, friend, I hope you’re well.

Something I read that stayed with me
OK, I know this is an odd choice for kicking off an ‘optimist toolbox',’ but hear me out. This month, I read Grief Is for People, a memoir about the author’s experience of losing her best friend. I’d had it on my list for a solid year, but if I’m honest, I just couldn’t bring myself to start. I knew that I would relate to Crosley’s grief so profoundly that there never seemed a right moment to crack it open.
